1994 Buick Park Avenue: Acceleration Trouble, Stalls on Hot Days?

My parents have a pretty nice Buick Park Avenue that seems to be repeatedly running into this problem where the car will stall on hot days. And a brand new and exciting problem is that if you give the car too much gas, it almost stalls out then as well. My dad tells me that the culprit must be the EGR Valve (which is pretty pricey). Others tell me it's the oxygen sensor. Any thoughts out there?
