I own a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird with a 2.0L four cylinder engine, mated to the 3-speed auto transmission. My engine has started cutting out at random times, especially at stoplights, and when I shift into drive or reverse from park or neutral. Also, when I shift into park from drive or reverse, the engine will rev a few hundred RPM's higher for about 5-7 seconds before falling back to idle. Could this be a problem with a sensor in the tranny? Somebody help me out with this one cause I'm stumped.
