1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee PROBLEM!! PLEASE HELP?

My Granny has this jeep and its been giving her this problem and she wants to get it figured out.it cranks sometimes and sometimes it dont.it will spit and sputter when it dont crank When it dont crank we can set the alarm off with the key by locking the door and setting the alarm off then we can crank it and it will fire right away whats going on with this thing please help me!
 
you have an electrical problem i have the sam e problem with my jeep what i do is go thru the passenger door and start the engine this usually works for me it has something to do with the driver door maybe a short remamber the alarm is tied in t=o the starter i am ripping my driver door off tommorow and going to get to the bottom of this when i do i will let u know what i come up with
