1993 ford ranger charging and starting problem wiring problem?

looking for a wiring dia. for a 1993 ford ranger specifically charging and starting from a fmc repair manual im getting 12 volts at regulator With the key off and i shouldn't till the key is on need to back trace the wire and find where problem is coming from don't really want to spend the money on a book cause will not use again just thought maybe someone had one that could email me or if there is a website i can go to also when i start the starter stays engaged and the selionod is wired right
