i have a 1993 ford explorer with the 4.0 engine. it was over 210,000 miles on it. had to replace the transmission once about 8 months ago, and the new one is slipping again. im tired of putting money into it, because im afraid the engine is gonna go sometime too because of the high miles. anyway, i would like to swap a v8 engine into it. i have seen where the 5.0 v8 has been swapped into it, but is there a way i could drop a 4.8 vortec engine and transmission or 5.3 vortec engine and tranny into it? i like chevrolet engines better, they just seem to hold up better, have more power, and sound better. any help would be great. thanks.
