My wifes car started knocking really loud, loss of performance, rough idle. So i tested for spark and found out 1 of the 3 coil packs was bad for #1 and 4 cylenders. So went out and bout another coil pack, and installed it to find out it didnt fix the issue. There is still no spark at my coil pack!! The other 2 coil packs work find but this one will not work even with the new pack installed.. Could this be a "Ignition control module" issue? Im at a loss.. And why would a ICM cause one pack to fail while the other to maintain?
Thanks
Battery is good, just replaced it, Allways use the right gas, and Oil is a little dirty, but its not low. Not gonna take it to the shop to get it checked out, to hard to find a honest mechanic anymore, plus prices r to much, when i can do it at home. Just looking for the right path to take so i dont waste money. ICM sounds like it could be going bad, but just dont see why it would effect one coil pack and not all three.
Thanks
