1992 pontiac firebird?

im 15 and will be getting my license soon.which meens its time to start looking for a car! my dad has a 1992 pontiac firebird 3.1 litter v6. the value of this car is close to nothing. which meens i have extra money to spend on mods. and the insurance would be cheap. i want to know if that is a good idea or if i should get a newer car. if so what are some options
