I am in the process of replacing my fuel pump on my 1992 Jeep Cherokee XJ. It has a 6 cyl. 4.0 engine. I successfully put the new pump back in the tank and resealed it but I am having problems with getting gas to the engine. When you turn the key to aux the pump primes like its supposed to. Its just not delivering enough gas to run the engine. I have bled air out of the fuel line because I thought I had a vacuum lock but I ruled that out because fuel is coming out of the bleeder valve on the engine now. I followed the directions in my chiltons book so im not sure why its not working because i havent any issues with repairs since I got the chiltons book.
In the chiltons book they talk about a TBI and MPI fuel pump but they dont say which one is best for my vehicle. If any one know was the difference between these two types are please let me know and if any one has any trouble shooting techniques I am open to suggestions.
** And yes I have replace the fuel filter**
Thanks!
