I am looking at a 1992 Ford Mustand 4-cyl. That starts and runs, but the auto trans wont 'catch' in any gear.

I wonder if dropping the pan, drainong all fluid and putting new stuff like that in will maybe work a mriacle and rejuvenate a band and make it work?

Or is a dead trans a dead trans?

Is a trans swap worth it if the rest of the car is good? Intended daily drievr, 25-30mpg like almsot all other 4 cyl car ive had... thanks

At the cost of a new tranny(up to 3000) dollars for a 4 banger lx I would just put it towards a newer economical car.

Yea dont buy those four banger stangs they're filled with Mazda garbage. The 5.0's had much better everything. Get rid of it.
