I recently bought a 1992 chevy 1500, this truck has been sitting for about 5 months and for some reason it wont crank, it will turn over but it wont crank. I have tried putting gas in the throttle body but still it wont crank? Any ideas?

No spark, I would look at a bad Ignition pick up or Cam or Crank sensor. there is also the possibility of a blown fuse but you would see other problems related to that, but still check all the fuses. You can pick up a Chilton, or Haynes repair manual from the auto parts stores for around 25 bucks, these books give information on how to Test the sensors to see rather or not they are operating correctly, they will also tell you where the local of the sensors are. I would look at picking one of these up so you have it as a reference.

Were there any previous problems with the truck? Why was it sitting for five months? If it was only being stored and ran before the previous owner left it sitting, then my recommendation would be to do a complete tune up on the vehicle, add some fuel stabilizer to the older fuel, and try cleaning the carb or fuel injected carb. After words she should run beautifully.

tell me this do the eng lite come on if not then you have a bad computer or see if i have spark if no spark then u may want to pick up a coil if this dont work hit me up @ [email protected]
