...something else? hi, i have 1991 toyota celica gt with just about 66000 miles. one night i had left a dash light on inside the car and the next day none of the lights or door ajar noises worked. i had given the car a jump and after about 15 minutes the car started up and i let it run for another 15 minutes on its own. i then turned off the car, the interior lights worked but were dimmed. i tried to start the car but it did not. today i wanted to go get my battery checked and charged if needed but i decided to see if my car would start, and it did. i don't know if a problem still exists and i don't know if it's the altenator, starter, battery or anything else. what could it be? thanks!

Most common cause is bad battery CABLES. Remove them and clean at BOTH ends. Re-install. This improves connections for everything else. Once car is running, go to Auto Zone or similar. They can test operation of charging and starting system for FREE. good luck!

your battery was not fully charged. after you let it set over night it built up a little but not enough. you need to put a full charge on it .. charge it on tricle for about eight hours..
