I bought this car and it has 84k miles on it thus far. Its a good little car and hasn't given me any trouble so far. The only thing that I am wondering is that it doesn't seem like it has the power it should. Well the story behind this car is that my neighbor bought it from his neighbor a while back because his neighbors never used the car. It would sit for months at a time and would be turned on every once in a while. Well, when they sold the car to my neighbor, he hardly ever used it either. It again sat for months at a time an he would only turn it on and drive it every once in a while too. i know there is a lack of power, the car will get up to speed, don't get me wrong but the acceleration is slow. WHy could this be? Does it just need a god tune up? What do I need to change or examine to get this car in tip top shape? I mean it only has 84k miles on it so its still young and has plenty of power I am assuming if it is given a god tune up. Also, the car idles at about 3,000 RPM then comes down to about 1200-1300 RPM at the very least while in park. For a little car(1.6L DOHC) is it idling way too high? I have never had a DOHC so I wouldn't know about them. The car runs about 3,000 RPM going about 60MPH. Is this normal? I have never had a car that ran that high before. Do I need to adjust the Idle on it? I appreciate your answers, please, whatever you think I might need to do to the car since its been sitting for so long, do not hesitate to give input, thank you very much!
