I'm having a problem with the truck staying on. I think it might be a fuel pump. Starts fine, a few seconds later it shuts off. I drove it far the other day and i had no problems. (36 miles one way) What do you think would be the first thing i should do, besides the obviouse changing the fuel pump.

Does it just die, or does it bog down a little, sputter, then die. If it just dies it could be the fuel pump, however, since you said its not consistent, it might be a sensor.

Try the Crankshaft positioning sensor. When it goes it will randomly make the engine stall, and when you try to re start it again, it will start right up.

first thing id do is add a bottle of fuel treatment next would be replace fuel filter if it wil run any its not the pump when they go bad they bad and dont work more likely its bad gas or dirty filter
