pretty wide variety of things to look for you should be a little more specific on what you mean ....the starter is not making any noise and you have put a new battery on it ....now its time to start checking wires get out a voltmeter and start checking wires from your battery to you started ...if it isnt in the wires then its a bad starter which without making any noise suddenly i doubt its your starter...if it has made a terrible clicking noise when you trurn on the key then it is the starter ...if the starter is working and the engine is not starting then try changing your spark plugs and stuff ...probably wouldnt keep it from starting but couldnt hurt to help it start .....could be a fuel pump...maf sensor could have jumped time or broken a timing belt ....or a fried computer .....lots of stuff that could have gone wrong and that is only the most likely ....was thier any noises,when did it run last,how well did it run when it ran last,did it just quit and not crank again or did you shut it off and it wouldnt crank after that....important to a technitian to determine quickly what the problem is ....hoped i helped and good luck
