So I found a strange black box behind my stereo head in my 93 Volvo 960, and traced the wires to the microphone above the visor that I knew pertained to a mobile phone that was once in the car. It had been uninstalled as far as I can tell, but it seems all the parts are there to reinstall it if I could ever find a use for it. My question is: Does anyone know how these early 90's car mobile phones work? I'm assuming it came stock, and the only label on the box says Ericsson and has a serial number that I googled to no avail. After seeing several 1/8'' audio jacks on it, my hope is to rig up a way to be able plug my iPod into the stereo through it, vs. the crappy audio from the tape adapter I have now or a $50 box to turn my CD input on the back into an AUX IN. Do these older mobile phones run through the whole stereo system? If so what should I be tuning my stereo to to hear it?
