A few days ago my engine started knocking, especially when I would start up, or excellerate. I'm pretty positive it's a rod bearing, but does anyone have a good description on how to repair this?

it is an extensive process, not sure about the shape of your camery but possibly not worth doing. the minimum repair would b to remove the oilpan from the bottom of the engine, then take the two bolts that connect the rod togather and replace that one bearing. if the bearing has been damaged, machine work may be nessisary which means the engine would have to be removed and completely dissasembled.

Step one ... remove engine from car.
Step two.... completely rebuild engine
Step three..reinstall engine

Parts and labor, 1400 to 1800 dollars
