1990 Honda fourtrax will not start with battery?

It will kick start easily and runs great but will not start with electric start only clicks. I have replaced the dead battery and bought a new starter. I am not sure if the solenoid is bad or not tried touching the two post together but it only sparked and nothing else no clicking or anything. The switch is not working properly you have to wiggle it to get the nuetral light to come on. Any suggestions?
 
Make sure the battery cables are tight (tighten them with a wrench, not a screw driver).
Check the battery negative (-) cable where it is attached to the frame (or engine).
Clean the connections and tighten the bolt.
