I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 4cyl automatic that seems to have some sort of transmission problem. It was running fine until one day coming home from work. On that day it acted like it didn't want to change gears, revving up high before finally shifting. When I got it home I put it in park, then tried reverse and drive again but the truck would not go in gear at all. The next day, I checked fluids and the tranny fluid was just a little low. After filling it I got in the truck and it moved again. Not 2 miles up the road it started acting up again, not wanting to come out of first gear. I parked it for a few weeks and tried again yesterday. This time, the truck drove all the way home without any issues, about 10 miles. Anyone have any clues on what I should be checking, or changing?
