1990 Ford F150 Wont Start?

Have a 1990 2wd F-150. Changed the starter relay( Fender mounted) put in a new battery, When the key is inserted and turned to the start position we lose all power to lights etc and truck will not start or turnover..
 
Usually if the lights are dim its probably the altenator. U can try jumping and then if it starts with the jump then it will run for a second and then quit then that will be the altenator
 
it might be the alternator or somthing wrong with the pullees on the belt i have the same problem with my 96 ford taurus
 
check the ignition switch on the (bottom of the steering column), the ignition coltrol modual (should be under the master cyclinder on the left side), and the only other thing i can think of is, ckeck your fuses and see which fuse may be blowing. if so you may have a ground in which that fuse provides power to
