i have 1990 ford f150 i seem to be having a problem. first thing in the morning when i start it up the rpm idle up to number 2. i have a bad miss. when i mean miss i mean it flubbers AT MPH 25. 35, 45 55 and then it levels out but when it is is that flubber state it dumps a lot gas.other than that overall it runs great.but in the mist of the bucking it does not lose speed or seems as if it will cut off. please help and thanks in advance.

If you haven't had a new set of spark plug wires installed in the last 10 years, I recommend you do that first and see how the truck runs then. The most probable cause is an engine ignition misfire due to bad spark plug wires or wire connections. The problem should be worse when your trying to go up a hill because it's harder to fire the spark plugs under a heavy engine load, so the misfire gets worse. Ford had some problems with the original equipment Motorcraft wires for that vintage vehicle, so if they are the original wires, don't hesitate to get new high quality wires installed. Of course it's a good time to have the spark plugs checked as well.
