I just replaced the battery, so I know that's good. It turns over, and gas makes it to the engine. It sounds like something spinning, like normal when an engine is turning over. Then the spinning sound gets faster and higher pitched, like something has slipped. The engine then sputters (even with the gas pedal pushed all in) and dies. I'm thinking its either the plugs or starter, but I could be (and am likely) wrong.
I should mention, while its trying to start, the engine shakes like a sumbich. haha. Its trying fairly hard.

So you guys are saying starter first though?

How hard is it to access/change the starter? I know in my Econoline 150 it was very easy...

Starter is gone, Flywheel could be damaged. Change starter first and crank it over and see if it fires. Then coil pack, plugs and wires. Also check the ignition control module. But it def sounds as if the starter wheel is worn out but its cranking over a bit. So Starter first and hopefully thats it!
