So I just got a 1990 chevrolet k1500 ext cab 4x4, with a 350 5.7L and a 700-R4 trans. The trans is just rebuilt with a shift kit, the problem is the transmission isn't shifting right, it shifts hard into 2nd and doesn't want to shift into 3rd, the gear is still there, the rpms don't shoot through the roof like 3rd is blown out, it just wont shift into 3rd.
I figured it was the TV (kickdown) cable, because the one I had on there was really halfass*d rigged. I changed it with a universal one from Alpena Trans, But I never actually adjusted it.
Would the shifting problem be because the cable isn't adjusted right? or can it also be something else?
Thanks for the help.
