I just bought a 1990 Chevy EuroSport about a week ago.. The car drove home fine ( bout half hour drive) I stopped by my house and got gas and took it for another test drive. i stopped at a friends house and then got back in started it up put in drive and stalled. Started it back up and put in drive and put pressure on the gas and it was spitting and sputtering on take off. The car seldomly stalls at redlights and stop signs but has no pick up what so ever it sputters and when i floor it i can take off normally . I sometimes here something clanging when i take up almost like the noise you hear when the car is runing out of gas. I had it looked at by a friend and they said the fuel pump is going but i dont think it is cause when the car has been running for a while and shut off for an hour or so and turned back on it has power but still sputters can anyone tell me what it might be?
After driving it for a couple days like this it seems to be trying at times to give power when i take off (this is after i cleaned out the air filter)
