1990 Cadillac Coupe Deville - Service Engine light?

I have a 1990 Cadillac Coupe Deville with 60,000 miles. one day i was parked with the engine running. it was idling fine, and then when i got going the service engine light came on for about 5 seconds and then shut off. and then came back on after about 20-30 seconds. If its on and i kinda floor it it goes off. i don't know what it could be. i checked the oil and its fine. Help!
 
How is the air filter. My Chevy Silverado did that too, and all it was was a dirty air filter. They have the same engine, so it is a possibility.
