1990 Buick, Engine problem..should i get it...its free?

Hey everyone, A friend of mine is giving me his 1990 Buick Regal for FREE. now right now im about to get about 1,800 dollars from my refund check at school. should i just buy another car or fix this one. Which is worth it. The problem with the car is he says it has a cracked cylinder head..idk how costy that will get. please help me guys
 
Cracked cylinder heads are pretty much a dead issue. But if you get it for free, then flip it for a few hundred dollars, you can use that to get an even better car.
