1989 YJ Jeep?????

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knew the good and bad about a 1989 YJ Jeep or a webpage a person could visit??
We are thinking of buying one and are interested in finding out more about them!!
If you know of any known problems please let me know,

well lets start with the pros.

there are a lot of after market parts that you can get for the yj. and the body of the earlier models, are stronger than that of the newer models. so if you want to turn into a minor trail jeep, you can do so for pretty cheap.

also i like the square lights better then the round ones.


as for the cons, you wont get much fuel economy out of an 89, let alone an 89 yj. you probably gonna be looking at the high teens if the mileage isnt too high, other wise you'll be getting around 14 mpg, i know from experience.

also, jeep didnt begin to put anti lock brakes into the wranglers until 93, so your yj wont have them unless you buy a conversion kit, or a jeep that has been converted. and in rainy weather locking brakes can be a little frightening at first, especially when you jeep could role over from it.
