I have an 1989 4X4 V6 with a manual transmission. I recently had my catalytic converter stolen and drove my truck into the shop to have a new one installed. The shop called me and told me that my truck was stuck in reverse. I returned to the shop and the guy working there told me that he had popped the hood and my clutch master cylinder was completely out of fluid and he had filled it. The truck in now stuck in reverse and the gear selector lever acts as if the truck is in neutral but the transmission is engaged in reverse. Since I was not there I am not sure if he did anything else to make the problem worse and in not owning up to it. The clutch seems to be fine as I can not push the truck unless the clutch is depressed and it does drive in reverse. I had not had any problems with clutch or trams mission pryor to taking it to the muffler shop. The problem I have now is that the thing is stuck in reverse and moving the selector lever is not doing anything. Any ideas on what might be wrong and what I can do do fix the thing?
