1989 Mercury topaz Oil pan gasket problem - HELP ASAP!!! :(?

Okay, so the oil pan gasket on my dads topaz was leaking, and beings that ive replaced the tranny pan gasket, the starter, the solenoid, the pcv valve, the battery and a whole load of other stuff, i figured i could easily enough replace the oil pan. Well, I pulled the starter, disconnected the radiator hose, drained the radiator, drained the oil, undid all the bolts (that i could find) etc.

Well Basically, the pan gasket is stuck toot he transmission somehow, i can move it around, by any attempts too pull it out result in me cursing because the darn thing wont move, it swings an inch too each side, a good half inch up and down, but it just wont come out.

So If any of you can help me with this that'd be great, cuz I need this car running again so my dad can get too work tomorrow morning. Not too mention the potential consequences if I wrecked his car, even though i was following his order too fix it................not lookin so good eh? :/

So yeah, What am i doing wrong?
and please, no stupid comments about how i shoulda taken it too a shop - if i had the money too do that trust me i would have.......
Hey everyone! Thanks for the help :)

So I decided i was probably getting caught on the pump intake like a few of you were saying, so i undid a few bolts on the plate between the tranny and the engine, so i could slide it over, and then i shoved a crowbar in there and pushed the pan gasket out. IT plopped right down, curshing my stomach, but its out now and my days made! Thanks for the help guys! :)

Thanks a lot for all the answers! Thumbs up too you all :)
