I took my 1989 Honda civic out for a drive today. I noticed that when it shifts from first to second it shits very hard almost like going too fast over a speed bump. Then when it shifts between 2nd and 3rd it shifts also hard. while not as hard as between 1st and 2nd, but still very hard. My the car is automatic with 115,000 miles on it. what causes hard shifting, and what are some options on fixing it, without rebuilding, or replacing the trans-axle.
