i bought my truck on september 8 2007.its got a 3.9 V6 with multiport injection. at one time it was a delivery truck and then it was auctioned off after it had major water system failure..so the owner before me got it off the auction and repaired it and drove it for a couple years so it has extra low miles due to the years that it sat without running..unfortunately it sat in the elements so its cosmetically rough but mechanically sound....then it came into my hands and ever since i got the truck the temperature gage always reads zero or it just hangs in an extremely low range..so my question is if theres something up with my thermostat or is there a wiring flaw? im just really afraid that somehow my truck may be overheating while the gage is telling me otherwise..

that's the sending unit probably causing that too happen i know mine is bad on my truck because it reads 0 at all times and sometimes goes up and down,i just haven't changed it yet, replace that though and it should read right,as long as your getting good heat all you should have to replace is the sending unit, check the temperature with temperature reader to know exactly what its running, this way you know its not getting too hot on you, good luck with it.
