Heyy i have a 1988 jeep cherokee laredo, Engine Type 4.0 InLine 6. 4x4.
So heres the problem it wont start.
It was running fine couple days ago, went to go start it thursday, it turns over, but it doent Start.
All it does is turn over, but doesnt start at all.
Friday i went a put a new Distriputer, new Spark plugs, New Spark Plug Wires.
tried to start after i put in the new things, and still nothing at all. turns over but wont start.
Then yesterday went a got a new fuel filter, installed it, tried to start it and still turns over but wont start.
After that i went a took the Crank case off, to check if it was all good, everything looked good, but then the gasket was broken, so am not sure if that what may be cuasing the problem.
I then went and talked to my bud thats a mechanic and he told me it might be the timing chain that has slipped or broke. To get the timing chain, i have to go threw hell just to get the cover off, to see the timing chain. so am not sure.
Iv been running out of solutions to get it running agian.
If yall might know anything please let me know.
Give me some tips, advice, do's and dont's.
Am going crazy spending money on stuff thats not even the problem.
Please let me know anything.
Thanks
