1988 Ford Thunderbird Transmission?

I need a new/used 1988 Ford Thunderbird transmission in my car. Does anyone know where I can get one or if another year's transmission would work? If so, I need help because right now I don't have a car because of it.
 
1986-1991 t-bird cougar mustang as long as engine size is the same
most salvage /recycler /used auto parts cost between 200-500 also if its a 5.0(302) ltd,marquis(mercury)lincoln mark7
