is a 1988 ford bronco full size a good vehicle for mud din i was planning on buying one for $1000.00 it is a 4x4 runs and drives fine auto tranny but the motor on the transfer case to switch it into 4x4 needs to be replaced if i bought it was planing on chopping the back to make it look like a truck and then put a roll cage in it. but before i do all that i was wwonderingif anyone had any advice on this vehicle like personal experience. or opinion on weather it does good in the mud. it would really help me out.

Great vehicle for off road fun. First swap out to a posi rear end, Really need locking front hubs not the electric crud. Switch to an electric fan (remove that fixed blade fan for deep water and mud traversing) Get a quick attach snorkel for water also. Add a receiver hitch to both front and rear of truck. Mount a winch on a yoke to be able to place at either end of truck. Definitely need off road lights and upgrade to high output alternator. Roll cage is a must. I do not believe you have to chop the rear as If memory serves it has a removable top. Need I mention a G.P.S, Fire Extinguisher, First Aid kit and emergency phone?

Only one kind of paint job....Rhino Line the entire exterior of truck (you can now color the liner). Wash with simple garden hose and is very difficult to scratch it up.

A good truck can only get you so far. Always be safe and always have a buddy truck with you. Calling a tow truck out into the woods gets real expensive real quick.

Have a lot of fun with it. Carry a girlfriend wearing a white t-shirt and go get wet.
