I have a LT230S Suzuki with a plastic fuel tank. It's sat for a long time and I am just starting a rebuild on it. Any ideas on what I should do to clean all the junk out from the inside of the gas tank? The only thing I'm a little puzzled about is that it's plastic. Thanks for your help.

the easy way and the cheapest is to get some pea gravel about a handful and put in the tank with some water enough to slosh around good. put the cap on make sure the petcock is turned off so water wont come out and shake the tank and around upside down everyway you can. then empty the tank and put a water hose in it and turn it upside down to make sure you get all the rocks out put some gas in it and shake it all around then let it air dry for a while then put fresh gas in it and it should be fine oh yeah clean the petcock good also to make sure you get a good flow

The gravel thing is a tried and true way to get the crud out of that tank... It doesn't happen quickly though. Get ready to shake your self silly. It may take several tries... and a small bucket of gravel. Make sure its very small stones, and maybe add some sandbox style clean sand. Rinse VERY thoroughly, several times.
