I have a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer with a 4.0 inline 6. I recently took the engine and tranny out for rebuild and put them back in. The problem now is the jeep will not start. I have replaced the distributor, distributor cap and rotor. Ignition control modual, the ecu, wires, spark plugs. I am thinking there is something to do with the chain. When I tor the motor apart the timing chain had 13 pins between timing marks. The manual say there is to be 15 so that is what I did. For a while the Crank sensor was not hooked up, after we traced that and hooked up, it would run a little but start very hard and run very rough. Now it is back to not starting just spudering around a little bit! Please help I have no more money to through at this Jeep!!
