1987 jeep cherokee chief... had radiator rebuilt as fluid kept overflowing any time you'd turn the car on from the overflow after just moments. reinstalled radiator and replaced t-stat and it continues to overflow out the overflow. engine compression tested fine but not going to chance driving like this. next thought was water pump.... any ideas of anything else or am I leaning in the right direction. not sure why everything comes out the overflow.

Try backflushing the radiator (in from the bottom, out from the top) if the radiators plugged up this will probably break it loose. also try changing the thermostat.it may be seized and not allowing antifreeze to pass
through it. Some overflow is normal (but not much). What you're describing seems to be more than normal.

When purging the air, you should also have the heater set on the hottest setting to open the heater core where the air is trapped. Run the vehicle for at least 15 minutes with the radiator cap off. Rev the motor up and down to 2,500 rpms and squeeze the top radiator hose, it helps get the air out.
