this is an all original very clean 1987 honda civic SI . we purchased it alittle over a month ago.
it had a bad alternator we replaced it and the battery.
One day later the battery light came on, checked the alt. and it showed low voltage. so we exchanged it.
A little over a week later the battery light comes on. same thing, low voltage from the alt. exchanged it. also removed the aftermarket cheap radio thinking it may be tied into something that is causing the alt. to go out.
after only a week now the battery light came on during a quick acceleration.
all fuses are ok.
All 3 alts came from kragen. Iam thinking bad mfg.brand (ultima) was thinking to get a new alt from Napa (OCA brand).
What are the odds that 3 Alts. can go out...on such a basic car. what else am I missing.
My mechanic is stumped. Im frustrated. anyone have an idea. thanks!!
