The truck runs fine but when i first start it it will run high with the oil pressure. Usually it stays there running high about a tick and a half past the halfway point. There's oil in the truck and recently changed the oil and filter. what is causing this? Its a 2wd longbed regular cab

WHICH engine???? It is normal for oil pressure to be high at first, and then to drop down based on oil temperature. Your oil pump has an oil pressure relief valve that tries to regulate oil pressure based upon temperature. If your engine is sludgy, then these systems cannot work their best. Have the engine de-sludged with butyl cello-soplve or Seafoam, and then switch to a good synthetic oil .Even though pricier, the oil change intervals are 3 times a slong. Usually only once a year is fine. Good luck!!
