- If the motor will stay running after you spray it with the starting fluid, then you may need to check compression on each of your cylinders. If it has been started with an ether type starting fluid for any amount of time, it begins to eat into the cylinder walls and piston creating little pits in the metal and you will not hold compression well enough to start without the spray.
- If it will not then your injectors may be bad or at least not recieving the pulse for them to open allowing fuel into the cylinders. Check your fuses and the wires leading to the injectors.
* A haynes manual for your vehicle at just about any local autoparts store will help you troubleshoot your electrical components if any.
- I can't tell by your title if you know for sure its getting spark or at least enough spark. Remove one spark plug from the motor, plug it back into the wire and let the metal part of the plug rest against a metal part attached to your engine. Dont hold it! Have someone else try to start the motor for a few seconds. Look at the end of the spark plug opposite the wire and see if it makes a spark.
* One of the manuals I mentioned above is really handy for at home troubleshooting. And usually the people at the auto parts store will be more than helpfull with helping you find the right one.
