1986 cadillac cimaron lost power?

my 1986 cadillac cimeron lost power, thinking fuel pump went bad, because of no pressure, hooked it up direct to the battery and tried to start the car, would'nt start, checked for spark by the coil wire. no spark. why??
 
check your fuses, could also be the ignition module, sounds like a shop job.
