1984 Honda Magna needs fixing, what the hell did I do to it?

I bought a used 1984 Honda Magna (700 cc)that originally fired up, but I was told would not stay running until I cleaned out the carbs. Well, I was just test firing it up to hear it make some noise (I had already done this a few times) after I had cleaned it with some soap and water and removed some dirt with watered down orange-clean (I did spray some of the wiring to get rid of grime, but quickly removed it). I then drove it just down the street briefly to see if there were any problems riding,comfort with the handlebar height, etc and was satisfied. I went to go drive it back up into my garage in my back yard, and took a spill on some wet grass. When I got her back up, and went to re-start her, she wouldn't. The starter wasn't even turning over, she starts to click, then makes a weird white-noisy sound and the displays go nuts. Later I noticed she was out of gas, but I put some more in and she still makes the weird noises. The displays start out all on (neutral light, fuel, etc) but then sometimes one of them fades out. What the hell did I do?
