1984 Ford Mustang a good deal or not?

So i went to a dealership today to ask about a 1984 ford mustang gt. It has 92,000miles on it and is posted for $3000. I think if i get into a bargain i can get it lower. Am looking into making it my daily car and also do some modifications to it. My dad thinks its a bad idea so i just want to know for all unbiased mustang owners what they think. Is it a good deal? What are the pros and cons of mustangs and also on this year (1984).
 
you should set down and talk to you dad and see what he mite have in mind but any old hotrod ford mustang camaro vettes you need to know a little bit about working on them your self it help a lot
