I have a rebuilt 1989 marine engine that was been sitting for 17 years. The engine only has 10 hours on it. We have rebuilt the top end to clean one cylinder. The engine moves freely and has a new starter on it. The engine turns over however there is no spark coming from the plug. We know this because we pulled the #1 plug and put it on the block to see if there was a spark while turning over. We have already replaced the coil, plugs and wires. We have also fixed all the grounds and wire damage that we could find. Is there anything we are missing that could cause the engine not to spark at all. We know the distributer is in correct because we set it to top dead center when the engine was apart. Any Ideas as to something we could try?? Battery is fully charged and attached to a charger.
Thanks!
