I recently came in possession of a 1981 Yamaha DT175 and I am wondering what its approximate value is. I have looked it up on NADA and gotten an idea but they seem to sell for a broader range of prices around here than what NADA lists and I thought someone who was actually in the business, either a collector or someone who knows more about bikes than I do could give me some more insight.
A little about it:
The good:
It runs excellent, shifts smooth etc.. and has less than 800 original miles on it. I bought it from the original owner and have a clean title.
It seems to have all original parts intact, brake light, signals, horn etc, the gauges all work, forks, bars etc, are straight.
Tires and plastics are in decent shape for the year.
The not so great:
The seat would need to be recovered.
A few small dings/ chips in the paint, some minor sun fading.
Headlight is intact but needs replaced.
A little dirty, and could probably use a minor tuneup although it runs excellent as is.
So what would it be worth? Either to someone that collects them or just wants a good running enduro?
I know its a pretty run of the mill bike and nothing to get super excited about but finding an 81 with such low miles is unheard of.
