1980 Honda CB400T Hawk?

Would this be a good beginner bike for a guy that is about 190 pounds. The bike is being offered for $950, but the blue book is $810, If I could get the price down to $850 would it be a good buy? Should I be concerned of the age of the bike? The seller said that the bike runs good.
 
The bike is 29 years old, it is worth $500.00 at the most. I sold a KZ1100 Spectre for $1000.00 last year with 18,000 miles on it.
