1979 Lincoln Memorial Cent - Missing "1" from 979?

I've got a 1979 Lincoln Memorial Cent. It has no "1" in front of "979." It does not appear to have been scratched or rubbed off in any way. Using a magnifying glass and other magnifying tools, there is clearly no "1." Any idea of what it may be worth? Error coin, mule, etc.? Thank you.
 
I'm not sure, but i've seen people who collected misfit coins. 1979 isn't SO old, but technically, the coin should be out of circulation anyways. Save it and take it maybe to a bank or a banker or an appraisal. It's probably more than you think.
