1976 Post Office Jeeps... Transmission and motor question.?

So, I am going to ask this question, although I already believe the answer is going to be a big fat NO.
I have located a couple 1976 Post Office jeeps made by AMC. both have a 3 speed automatic ( yes, I said auto) transmission. One has a 4 Cyl and the other has an inline 6. I believe the one with the inline 6 needs the trransmission done or swapped out, so to put it simple... can I use the transmission from one of the jeeps to put into the other one to make one that works?
Any feedback or knowledge about this problem would be greatly appritiated.

the AMC jeeps used engines and trans from every one.{FORD<GMC<DODGE} the jeep is a DJ type and you can buy a adaptor plate at most 4X4 shops to do the trans swap.
