1973 yamaha ct enduro?

I have a 1973 yamaha 175cc enduro and it will not start. I did mix the gas and oil wrong a couple of years ago and it would not start after that. I was wondering if that is why it would not start. I did also find a hole in the float in the carb. If you could give me any ideas on why it wont start I would appreciate it. Thanks. Ps i know it maybe other things i just hope it isnt.
