background info: been sitting for 5 yrs in a barn, started infrequently. runs great once started.
problem:
It starts fine when its cold, pump it a few times and it starts right up. After it has been driven for a while, if you shut it off, it will NOT start. The only way you can start it is to pour gas in the carb, then it will fire up.
Please offer mechanical correction suggestions.
My first guess is:
float sticking or bad accelerator pump?

When I say it drives fine once running, I mean we drove it 140 miles w/ NO problems....just after we shut it off to get gas, it wouldnt start. It was then that we found that we had to pour gas in the carb.
