1973 CHEVY C-10 PICK UP 2WD LEAKING HELP!!!!?

My 1973 chevy c-10 pick up with a 350 turbo trans is leaking trans fluid from the kick down cable, my friend suggested that i should change the the seal does anybody know and can give me a idea on how to change the kick down cable seal? and do i need to drop the pan to do this? please help!!
